Xena settles in and, finally, the men return

There was a long unanticipated holiday by the workmen after the last update; it was fair enough they didn't come on Wednesday but I was hoping to see them Thursday or Friday but nothing. We had a busy enough time without them, and I was under the weather a bit though I'm feeling better now, but still I wished to have them in getting back to the workshop.

But first a slew of photographs from the intervening time before today. No more snow fell after Monday however it has been cold enough that we still have some hanging around even now. It had blown inside the flyscreen on the balcony but that disappeared quickly however Sammy didn't keep his cheeky smile for many days. Rosie enjoyed the trampoline a couple of times, including today, but she's mostly loved spending time and playing with Xena who has been settling in really well. Thelma now plays with her a bit but Louise is still very hostile unfortunately. Time will settle that though. We've experienced beautiful sunny weather on the main part but very cold nights. Xena has realised a joy for climbing onto shoulders which is very cute; her joy for biting is less cute and we're working to train her out of that. We're also trying to train her to go to her bed and stay and she's not doing bad but more effort needed. At the weekend I had a quieter day with Rosie on Saturday and then on Sunday I put up a new bathroom unit, and Rosie helped to tighten it all up.

I'd rung Bekir on Sunday and they arrived on time this morning and got stuck in to the tasks in the workshop. First of all they fitted legs to the bench which will have my 3D printers on, and then with this perfectly level they put some angles along the wall edges so stuff can't fall through. The next job was to clean and tidy the space where the new main island workbench will go; I am very excited about this. I was super busy today and only got down to see their progress a couple of times but it was very cool to see the new Bosch tablesaw out of its packing. We did some planning, worked out the rough locations, and then they set to with cutting legs and making supports for the table to sit on. This is how long the table will be, but it will be two of these sheets next to each other, with a vaccuum channel in the middle for dust control. I'm very excited!

I'll leave you with two pictures. The first is of the stunning moon-rise this evening which Rosie was loving watching as well. Secondly is Louise making me a liar for my comment earlier. This evening suddenly she has begun to interact and play, and assert some dominance, and this is just the best thing to watch. Very cool!

So there we have it; the men will hopefully be in every day this week and will get the workshop finished. Thanks for reading.
