Here for sale we have Pierre, my lovely camper van.
Pierre was bought earlier in the year as part of my emigration plans and was used through the summer more than once to the Lake District and further afield, to ensure that he was able to achieve the 2500 mile trip I am planning next year.
He proved more than capable.
So why, you may ask, am I selling him?
The reason is simple. I woke up and realised that I am emigrating to a country where you drive on the wrong side of the road and Pierre is a Right Hand Drive vehicle. As I aim to use my camper van once I have arrived, for exploring the country, I realised that I should really get a Left Hand Drive Vehicle.
And so I am, with reluctance, having to sell Pierre. I have bought myself my other camper already (he is called Julian) which you can see when you come to test drive Pierre.
And so, to the description.
Pierre is a conversion of a Renault Trafic which has a bulletproof body and engine; there are little touches of rust under one of the windows (I shall point this out to you) but I have never seen any indication that this is anything other than superficial. The fact he is a high top means you can walk around with ease inside; I am nearly 6' and I have no trouble at all.

Accommodation wise this you can easily tour with a couple and a younger child. When you are driving the seat in the back has a secure seat-belt and plenty of room and, when he is converted into sleeping mode, there is a cushioned bench which can be put across the front seats (an improvement from the original method which involved rotating the passenger front seat and sleeping on that - not very comfortable, believe me I tried it) and the back converts into a double bed which is large enough for two adults.
Another improvement I have made is there is a black out curtain which velcros in between the front and back sleeping compartments; this allows privacy and space and means, even if you are only using the back compartment for sleeping, that heat is retained better for a more comfortable night.

He has a double gas hob (with a full gas bottle; only used to make breakfast and a brew a few times since last filling) and plenty of storage; there are locks on every door (of course you'll get the keys) which means that doors never swing open. Indeed the amount of storage which is fitted into Pierre will probably amaze you.

There is space for a toilet however this had been removed before I bought him and I did not get round to buying one to put in. I didn't find this an issue really as I stayed in campsites and the additional storage in that gap was useful for me.
Pierre's engine is clean and starts first time, every time. There is a manual choke (yep; that'll take you back) however this is very easy to learn and I will be sure to teach you exactly the best way I have found to use this simple lever. The milage of 53787 is completely real and I had a CD player fitted to replace the cassette deck he had when I bought him.

The final thing to point out is Pierre's ever-so-handsome paint job. This is guaranteed to turn heads and receive many admiring comments. Everywhere I have been with him I have had jealousy and "wow he is AWESOME dude!" from all and sundry. You will be the king of the camp site when you arrive in Pierre.
