Kind gestures

Yesterday you had the UK update, which is really just as well as I had not much to tell you about due to work.  So yesterday in terms of photographs will be brief!

The first thing I noticed was the first blooming poppy on the land. Beautiful indeed and slap bang in the middle of Rambo's enclosure, so that won't last long.

Having a very busy day yesterday work-wise, I got very little done away from my desk, but I did manage a load of washing - finally remembered! As I went to the line to hang it up, as always happens, I jumped when something tickled my foot and as I went down to scratch my ankle I saw this. I am a bit annoyed at the quality of the photo, but I spent an age working out how the spider got the bee. At least i assume that is what happened.

Clean clothes on the line. How I have missed this. I love drying clothes outside and hate it when it can't be done. They were dry in a matter of an hour as well, as the weather is fantastic at the minute.

As I say, yesterday was a washout as far as having anything to tell you about, but at least today has some progress shots. This morning's feeding round brought me to this when it was Sassy's turn. She had been banging very loudly and she stands on top of this plastic bit when she does. She has obviously thumped her legs so hard that she tore it away from the wires, the little madame!

I am going to have to change the time I feed Rambo now. He has been a real pain on the food front since we got back. I can't quite work out if he is just distracted by the men being here in the mornings or if he is actually off his food. It took me 40 minutes today to get him to eat half his daily allowance. I was not impressed, but I stubbornly made him finish it before he left his house.

So here is the status of the drainage trench.  Pretty good. I think they are almost ready to level it with the sand and lay the pipes.

At the back of the School we have lost the back stairs to the garden to accommodate the pipes.

I went out at the end of today to find exhausted workmen sitting down and having a break from the 28 degree heat. Fair enough I suppose. Even I won't complain about that!

When I was feeding Rambo again this evening, I thought I might try just dry food and leave the meat out of the equation. That didn't quite wash and as he sniffed the bowl I got the stare - haha. I went and added some meat because I am soft and he was gobbling it up as the Little Lady came to the gate carrying a hoe. She was saying something about the onions but I couldn't quite work out what she was saying. She marched into the veg patch and started to turn the soil for me and told me to water them generously tomorrow, to which I agreed. This woman knows how to grow vegetables, so I will not argue. She had brought me a gift of spring onions, bless her in response to my unexpected gift of a loaf of bread and some biscuits that I picked up for her this morning. That is just how it works here and it is lovely.

It is now 8.30 and I am starting to get tired, but I am going to leave you with some machine porn. Her it is, the drill that has been giving me a headache for days. I still want a go though!
