End of the week

There was no blog yesterday as the workmen were not on site as they had some other stuff to get done, which is fair enough. It was nice to not have any noise for a day.

The one thing I have from yesterday is this video I shot rushing up onto the roof. There was a huge flock of Starlings which descended on our village and settled all over the power lines and fields and our front lawn. There were many thousands and the noise was incredible. I only caught the end of it however I think you can probably see what was so stunning about it.

It was a pretty disturbed night as well and I was up at about 2am and then started work at 3am as I couldn't get back over after Rosie decided she wanted fed. I didn't even get up to feed her; A is SO good at trying to enable me to rest for working nights, but I couldn't avoid being woken and that was that. By the time the men arrived I had done nearly a full day and was having a quick rest before I had some chores to do in town. The progress today has been good; Sally and Halil have been painting the play room with the new paint while Bekir has continued tiling into the bedroom. He says that next week it'll be time for the air conditioning to be fitted, which means we're REALLY close to the next task which is our new toilets. I'm very excited about Rosie getting a bedroom and us getting non-bucket toilets.

I'll leave you for this update with these two pictures of the sky this evening, and then the sunset on the hills across the way. It remains the most beautiful and varied of places to live.
