This blog post comes to you typed while sat on the roof terrace after a fantastic meal. The sun is out, there is a slight cooling breeze just tickling around, and it is a glorious evening. It's not going to be a long blog today as very little happened apart from work but anyway, onwards.

A little bit of Sassy love in the morning |
We both slept really well last night, neither of us remember waking once until the morning. When we did finally get up we struggled to get past the left over snooze feeling of a heavy night sleep. A couple of brews were consumed and then I got on with my work which has ended up to be all encompassing today and much more complicated than I expected. While I was working I heard Sassy banging and I took the opportunity to go in and sit with her for a while. She hopped right over to me and sniffed and hopped around me for a fair while before I had to stop and get back to my desk. She's such a lovely rabbit I cannot wait for her to share the front room with us.

Truck delivering sand and cement bags |
We decided to take the whisky out of Julian early on before the sun came up so it didn't get too hot. While we were unloading we heard a truck and thought it was the workmen. It wasn't, but it was a delivery of a load of sand and a few bags of cement. A moved Thomas out of the way so he could empty his load and then he was off. The workmen never arrived at all.

Whisky inside |
We finished moving the whisky and I stacked it all in the store room under the window where the sun won't get to it. It'll stay here til after the guest suite is done; I reckon the little store cupboard in the vestibule may work well for a place to stash it til the living room is done and it can all go on display.

Village style of traffic jam |
Louise had woken up full of beans and looking a lot better and her eye swelling is definitely less but after some discussion we decided that we should go to the vet in town just in case he had anything else to say. On the way through the village we thought we may have to wait til much later as there were three huge lorries unloading straw. We waited a minute and the men shifted a truck a small distance and then encouraged us as we wove and slid our way through the gap. Awesome. Once again I had to park "off road" as there were no parking places at all but that's what the 4x4 is for huh. We walked round to the vet and he saw us pretty much immediately but had absolutely no interest in examining her in the slightest. At first he handed some pills but then he took them back and gave us some vitamin pills. It was rather disappointing and certainly not worth the drive but the good thing was to see Louise once again walking so happily on her lead.

Using A's shoes as a pillow |
When we got back it was straight to the grindstone to work for both of us and there we stayed for the rest of the day apart from a short break at lunch (I lay down with Louise near the standpipe where it was SO HOT and then went to sit in Julian and be completely unreasonably happy to be sat there) and maybe a couple of leg stretchers as well. The girls were both chilling out, though Thelma still wanted to play a bit while Louise was still quiet and in her bed a lot.

Extending the neutral to the correct bar |
The tour de france had its third day today and I had that on in the background for a bit towards the end of my working day. About 5pm local time I really hit a wall and my brain seized up so I was grateful to put the computer away and start the next task which was to change round the wiring that I had done a bit wrong yesterday. This did not take all that long though I had to but a joint block in to extend the neutral to the correct bar. I also took the chance to put all the surrounds on the consumer units to make them safer. We switched the power on and then A went to do the bedside light test and wouldn't you know it, it worked!! Success! My next task is to sort out the cable tidies to be a bit more sensible, though I have an idea for that now, and to rig up lights in the roof and also run the cables across for the electrics to the bathroom and guest suites.

Just getting ready to eat our dinner |
I got the power back on in time to connect to eurosport again for the final 20km of the stage and it was a cracker with Froome nipping in to second place on the day to snatch the yellow jersey by 1 second from his nearest challenger. A was down feeding Rambo while I was watching this and I fed Sassy then joined the girls on their chair again to watch and doze and shout at the end. Dinner was in cooking at the same time and shortly after we adjourned to where I am sat now and ate a lovely meal of pork chops, fried rice, marrows and peppers. Gorgeous!

Munching their dinner on the roof terrace |
I was all set for going down and typing this up sat at the desk but A suggested we should get back up here with the girls for their dinner time, and for me to type. A great choice. She got the spare chop she had prepared, some of the left over rice, and half a tin of dog meat and split it between their bowls. Now consider that for the past few days we've had to literally hand feed Louise for her to eat anything at all. This evening she stuck her nose in her bowl and didn't come up for air for ages! What a success, and thank you Graham et al who suggested the meat and rice meal. It's such a relief to see her eating and even going to Thelma's bowl and pushing her way in.

Sun heading towards the horizon |
The whole day today has been outstanding; exactly what you expect from July in Bulgaria. It has been very hot in the sun, the air has gained that gorgeous dry warm characteristic I love the most, and there has been a mainly very light breeze keeping the air moving but not blowing so hard as to lift dust or other nasty things around. Here is a picture of the sky just now as I type this, as the sun tends towards the horizon and we both say "Wow!" a lot watching it.

She's getting stuck into this bone. Excellent! |
Our bones from our dinner did not go to waste as we gave one each to Thelma and Louise and we've another to give to Rambo in a minute. Now obviously considering Louise's attitude to food we didn't know how she would react but as I'm typing she is gnawing on it, including cracking sounds as she tries to get to the marrow. This is so wonderful! Maybe she is finally getting better.

There it goes. |
And so the day draws to a close with a firey sunset. We'll be off to do the watering round when I finish typing this and can finally stop taking pictures of the sunset. Amazing.
Night.
