A day off, a day of progress

Yesterday we had an unexpected day off as the men didn't come to work however they were back today.

Over the weekend the new compost bin arrived so I assembled it and it is now tucked in the corner of the garden waiting to be used when my lawnmower arrives, and after we swap to the posher composting toilets. The men arrived on time today and got stuck into cleaning up and preparing for grouting in the play room. Bekir had left a tool at home so he dashed back very quickly and collected it. Hikmet was also on site and he was clearing more saplings down in the wild area, and then collecting together wood to put into the other end of the chicken house to dry ready for next winter. It is a good thing he did as it is now raining again.

With Halil and Bekir back very quickly from collecting the tool Halil got stuck in to helping Sally in the play room while Bekir finished the tiling at the edges and pushed on with the tiling in the bedroom. Hikmet was cracking on, in the drizzle, tidying that bottom corner and I took a stroll down to get a never-before-seen-view of the old school and the green building from that position. At the end of the day Bekir was hard at work finishing the tiling in the bedroom, while the other men were changed and ready to go, so tomorrow the grouting can be done and he can get the final wall section up. We're also very shortly going to have the fitters out to put the aircon in.

And so there you have it; tomorrow will be another busy day for me at work but I'll be back with a few more pictures and more stories of our progress.

Thanks for reading.
