Dragon Day

I'm opening this blog post with a toast to my friend Dragon who passed three years ago today. As is traditional I have taken a small dram of whisky in his memory. He was a good man, one of the very best, and the world is a worse place without him in it.

For the main purpose of the blog I was quite busy at work again so there are few pictures once more. Bekir had as his target tiling the play room while Sally painted the bedroom walls and ceiling and Halil helped them both with mixing of terakol and doing small bits of painting himself. Outside Hikmet completed clearing the land at the bottom next to the gate and then took it on himself to clear up and start the bonfire on the back bank. During lunch it started raining on and off and then Sally realised he was running out of paint so A had to go out and get more. She got to the shop to find that we had bought them out entirely (this happens more often than you would have thought) which gave the men a good laugh and she has picked a very slightly different colour for the playroom. They have enough for both rooms now.

The rain got worse and pretty soon it was blowing a gale and lashing down. Poor Hikmet was outside in this burning more brambles, this time down near the gate. He was hiding behind the Green Building then rushing out to put more on then rushing back for cover. Not pleasant for him at all. By the end of the day the painting in Rosie's Bedroom was all finished, and Bekir had only the final small bits of tiling to do in the floor in the Playroom. They can now swap rooms with the paint for the Playroom and the tiles in the Bedroom. The weather has continued to be bad and it is howling outside right now but the fire on the top bank is still burning away, not quite as much as this picture as it was taken a few hours ago, but it has lasted well.

So there you are; since then I've bought our lawnmower finally and we've had a lovely steak dinner, played lots with Rosie, and I've had some time doing my hobby. Nearly bed time here and then back to it again tomorrow.

Thanks for reading.
