Outer wall foundations

Today was, again, a busy and distracted one for me but we had an extra body in working with Bekir and Halil and lots of progress was made.

First thing they got the mixer out and started mixing up cement for the outer wall foundations. We will be building on top of this with cement blocks (though we are currently still waiting for the rest of our materials to be delivered; over a month now we have been waiting which is not good). I only went out a couple of times, the second time was just before lunch and they had finished the first side. I didn't get outside again after that but I think they did complete it all. I suppose I will find out tomorrow as it is too dark to check now. One other thing the men did today was help me shift and lift the shelves into place on the top corridor; these can now be filled with books and miniatures and games.

At the end of the day we both went to collect Rosie, then paid the man for the sand, and then headed over to the garage to collect Thomas who had been fixed and to drop Betty off. After that we headed straight to our favourite restaurant for food and so Rosie could play in the play area. She had a wonderful time, and the food was good, and now we're back and ready for bed ourselves.

So there you are; another day done, and the week is as well. Thanks for reading, back on Monday.

  1. I read that there is a shortage of building materials throughout Europe. Tiresome.

    1. Yeah it's very frustrating; we don't actually have enough materials to finish any of the jobs we want to :(
