Another day done, and the weekend upon us. Here goes.

The day began with the men checking over the insulation they'd fitted the day before and filling in any gaps and cracks that they had missed. They have insulated the whole of the top which is a good thing; later on they can clad the outside and render it all to make it look nice, and even tile the top of the roof maybe. We shall see. With the insulation all in place Halil and Sally went inside each bay and installed some pretty strong looking supports underneath the wood while Bekir made the pipe for the ventilation. This will reach up to the roof line and help with the composting process. It has been made with cardboard wrapped around a 120mm pipe (the size it needs to be) and then held in place with gaffer tape. I love this kind of engineering.

Just before lunch the cement mixer was pulled out and fixed slightly as the handle had come loose. The workmen REALLY love having Rosie around and she loves getting involved. I was sat with her watching and Halil came over, took her hand, and walked with her to watch the work going on; it was such a lovely sweet moment I had to video and share it. Bekir then watered down the area and they went for lunch, sitting in the garden as it was so lovely. After lunch, and after Rosie had slept for ages and I got some hobbying done, I headed outside and found they were well into the process of pouring the concrete and what a lot of concrete this is; Halil was having some exercise in lifting it all up onto the top of the slab for Sally to smooth down. I took myself into the garden with the pruning saw and went round clearing up saplings that had been in the way while I was mowing the lawn; Bekir helped cut one larger tree down that was very close to the Green Building and pushing at the roof as well.

It did not take long to get the whole slab laid and the Sally went back over and polished the finish; while he was doing this Bekir and Halil set to and cleaned up the whole area, and the tools, ready for the weekend. Again the men showed their way with Rosie as Halil made sure to show Rosie him spreading the left over concrete to fill in some gaps and after that Sally let her use his smoothing tool to rub on the cement. It's wonderful how they act towards her.

And there you are; it's been a lovely day, warm again and Rosie has been in and out through the day and gave us a lovely long afternoon nap as well. I had a lot of fun with her when I was outside with her and she had a great time exploring.

I'll be back maybe Monday or Tuesday - it's forecast storms on Monday so we may not see the men. Thanks for reading.
