Unexpected day off school

Today has been a long and busy and interesting day. I'm very late starting this so let's get to it.

I was up early with Rosie and we went outside to watch the sun rise over the mountains across the way. When it was time for school I helped Angela by taking Rosie down but when we got to the gates they were locked! It turned out today is a holiday and school was shut, but no one thought to tell us. Oh well, we turned right round and headed back. When we got back (surprising Grandma and Angela in the process with Rosie being still with me) then men were already in and working away on continuing to remove the badly done window sills. This is what they stuck with all day, getting all the front windows chipped away before heading into town to get some more cement and some wire mesh for reinforcement.

Rosie had a lovely day playing outside almost the entire day. Angela and my mum were out there in the garden pottering around all morning as well. It was a great day indeed. After lunch Rosie watched The Princess Bride while Angela had a bit of a rest and then it was back outside again to sit in the shade and play. Bekir, by this time, was now shuttering around each of the removed window frames and putting the steel in to reinforce it. I think at this rate they should get them all poured tomorrow but we shall see. It's a slightly bigger job than initially thought (I was originally asking them to just chisel out a channel by each of the blocked drains) but it will be a much better result in the long run. By this time I had come out and joined everyone in the garden. It was superb to be out there relaxing after a busy day of my own.

When it got time for Angela to take dinner out the oven we discovered the funniest thing; the next setting to "fan heat" is "fan cool" and the setting had been knocked to the wrong one! This turned out to be for the best as we decided to head down to a close restaurant with a good play area and we had a really lovely time. Rosie enjoyed playing and just as we were leaving one of her old school friends turned up so we stayed a little longer so they could play. This all meant it was dark when we got home so Angela watered in the dark while the rest of us fed the chickens then got to bed time routine.

So there you are; another day in the bag. Thanks for reading, back tomorrow.
