Sally pulls the short straw

The title of the update today is inspired by Sally who had the worst job of all today, as you shall see. I felt so bad for him; what a boring tedious unpleasant task.

The day started late for me as I had a really bad night last night and couldn't sleep; I left my morning chores apart from the watering with Rosie and started work early as well. The men were in on time and first of all I helped a bit with Bekir and Halil to clear all the stuff out of the bottom corridor (now Library!!) so the horrendous task of stripping the walls could be completed. Meanwhile Sally did a quick second coat of plaster on the ceiling of the gym. With these two tasks done Halil and Sally grabbed the scrapers and hammers and spent the ENTIRE day scraping and tapping. As I've said I felt so bad for Sally tap tap tap tap tap all day - he must have hit the walls several thousand times, literally.

Bekir had given himself the job of finishing the electrics in the gym and he worked steadily towards this all day. He did finish up mid afternoon but there was not enough time left in the day to bother to mix and start laying tiles however we think we've worked out what odds and ends of old tile batches we can use to finish the room. Poor Sally and Halil continued on the library walls and were on track to finish it all in one day. Finally my busy work day ended and I spent a little while with Rosie on the balcony, though she wasn't wanting to settle in any one place for long. It was hot, to be fair. At the end of the day Bekir moved the lighting cables from inside the library to outside; this means we still have lights on the stairs and the full renovation of the library can continue. Sally and Halil had indeed achieved the task of clearing the walls so tomorrow will be power channelling, priming the walls - they are working so fast it's very exciting. I also today ordered some book shelves to see how they will look in there.

There you are; another day done. See you again tomorrow and thanks for reading.
