Third course and Christmas Tree

Today's update is in two parts, and you can guess those parts by the title. Onwards...

I had a very bad night sleep and worked most of the night before getting a couple of hours sleep. I was woken just in time to see the most incredible sunrise, and to say bye to Rosie before she headed to school. Bekir noticed that one of our doors was hanging slightly off so fixed it for us then he and Halil helped to shift a bolt on the regulator we bought for the new heater on the balcony; of course it ended up being the wrong size. With these jobs done they headed outside and basically laid blocks all day. I was super busy as well as being tired so didn't get outside at all however they apparently took Thomas down to pick up some more blocks as they were short about 35 to complete the raised beds. They had done it all by the end of the day and lit a fire to remove waste and warm themselves. Tomorrow will be adding drainage, stones and soil to these raised beds. Very exciting indeed!

Inside Angela has done an awesome job cleaning the lounge and getting ready for putting the tree up and she did just that during today. It was about half done and waiting for Rosie to come home from school and help with the finishing touches, which she had GREAT fun doing. After dinner it was time for the advent calendar and then Angela and I lifted the Christmas Railway into place, put the tree in the middle, then Rosie helped to stack the presents around it. Seriously a lovely time and it is true that a child makes Christmas even more special.

So there it is; thanks for reading. Back tomorrow.
