Another slower day

Happy St Georges Day.

Welcome back to another blog update. Today has been a slower day of progress than I hoped but the men have days like that; some days they achieve so much more than expected and others things take longer than you think but it's the same in my line of work so I do not find it anything to be worried about.

The day started fine and Rosie spent almost the entire morning outside. I have been putting off desk work that I need to do and chose today to get back to it so was at my desk more than I've been for a month. Halil's first task was clearing away the squirty foam around the windows and doors and he got stuck in to this. Bekir was back to finishing off the boxing around the toilet pipe, putting wooden boards over the insulation to protect it from damage from our fire wood that will be stacked on there. Angela took Rosie next door to gift some pepper seedlings that she had grown and been super successful with and came back with a very pretty headband for Rosie that she actually doesn't mind wearing! Sally meanwhile was going around after Halil and squaring the corners with cement inside.

Bekir finished off all the boxing and then got started with the next job which was putting the drip lips above the doors for the bays. I was outside for a bit which was lovely and the smell from the flags made me go over and take yet another picture of them. They really are lovely. Final touches were now being applied to the boxing off (plaster to protect from the rain) and Halil removing the protective stickers from the windows while Sally finished the cement work and then began to build the forms for the windowsills (which I expected to be done today but yeah).

All in all it's been a good enough day, and now it is raining very hard so I hope we do get the men back tomorrow. It's not looking so likely that we'll get the whole room finished for the weekend, however. Which is a shame.

Thanks for reading.
