Holes

Today's is going to be a short update I hope; it's been a simple day but I've a few pictures (as you can see below).

The day dawned foggy but very quickly that burned off and it has been hot all day. The men were again a little late arriving and got stuck into the balcony work straight away. Their first hole was slightly too far over and we ended up having to reevaluate slightly as the balcony has an overhang and we really don't want our support beams set on that. Anyway, that was resolved and they carried on. After lunch I headed to town with Bekir to get some steel sheets as planks to set the beams on, stopping on the way to watch the bulldozer. It turns out they're putting up some high voltage towers to get power to Greece. Hopefully they won't be too unsightly but that's modernity huh. It was very hot down at the metal yard but we got everything including a new hammer chisel for the drill as they had broken their one. The afternoon was more of the same and at the end of the day I got them to seal over the top of the places where they had accidentally gone through the roof - we have rain forecast and the holes went down onto our stored firewood.

I've told Bekir that if it rains tomorrow he should still come if possible as there is work inside for them; not least putting a fence up around the spiral stairs as today Rosie climbed from all the way up. Angela was with her but she did it pretty much entirely without help. Crazy. We need to make sure she can only do that when we're with her. At the end of the day I had more time with her (working sucks, taking me away, but it's been good today learning new skills) and we went onto the lawn with the rug. She had a good swing as well and was in good form. The clouds were building and I felt some drops of rain (and my ankle hurt) so I'm pretty sure we will get rain tonight. We shall see.

So there you are; hopefully I'll be back tomorrow. Thanks for reading :)
