Busy weekend and Monday

The title says it all really; it's been a busy and good weekend, and today the men have got a lot done while I was busy at work and Angela was busy with lots of other things.

Saturday started with a beautiful sunrise but we were both pretty exhausted and so the morning was not that busy (having said about being so busy) however in the afternoon we headed into town to look for carpets (we were successful and Angela got out to order them today) for the library and also pick up a few bits and pieces for the house. I also got to sit with Rosie in the trailer which was lovely. In the evening we got to go see the neighbours which was particularly lovely as the Little Lady has been under the weather, but she was a lot better when we were there.

Sunday dawned bright and was busy; we were outside gardening, with Angela planting more flowers (the number of butterflies they are attracting is incredible) and I dug out some humanure to put on the flowers and also into some of the raised beds. After this while Rosie had her nap we played a game then in the afternoon it was out into the garden again for watering and then all of us in the trailer. It was a busy weekend (busier than it sounds) but a good one all the same.

And so to today and the men were back, though no Hikmet who will join us tomorrow. Halil and Sally were into the upstairs corridor and preparing for a second plaster coat, then they got started on it, while Bekir fitted the second blind in Angela's Art Room and then went into the Games room and fitted them in there. With those done he quickly helped me rig up the fire in the tools room / my painting room and then got stuck into the electrics in the top corridor, first fitting the wooden dowels into the ceiling so the light fittings can be attached, then going round connecting up some wires and finally to end the day getting stuck into cleaning the windows. Meanwhile Halil and Sally got about 2/3 through the plastering so tomorrow they should finish. Very exciting.

We have about ten days to wait for the carpet, no sign of the window people today, but things are rushing to a conclusion. Happily Bekir seems to want to do the next section before ending for the year so my model railway MAY get begun this year. After work today we did some more in the garden and I put old windows over the raised beds again.

So there you are; a busy weekend and Monday indeed.
