Tiling, Plastering

Another day done, but a slower progress one today. I think the men are running down to the winter break, which is fair enough it's been an epic year.

It was super foggy this morning but burned off pretty quickly; I had a crazy start to the day as I thought Bekir had a few hours of tiling in front of him then would be inside to start fitting the blinds and the state of the Games Room was such that there was no way to get to the windows so I spent the start of the day running to get it cleared before breakfast. Hikmet returned today to do the wood and got stuck in to stacking the second delivery away. Sally and Halil were in the upstairs corridor again, Halil painting the primer and Sally first of all removing the plastic sheet and then fixing up some damage to that part of the wall, including a lump of wood that was cemented into the wall. Outside Bekir was measuring up the tiles to repair the top of the wall around the balcony where it had been damaged by the steel being pushed up.

The afternoon was lots of plastering and tiling and cutting of wood. Angela got Rosie for her final vaccination and the paperwork for the school so tomorrow she finally starts which is awesome. Sally and Halil worked well in concert to plaster as much as they could in the day. Hikmet finished stacking the wood, cleared up the kindling from it into the box in the garage, then went and finished cutting the wood in the chicken house (using a chainsaw which was very impressive as he doesn't like machines - and fair play to him for that!). Bekir finished the wall tiling finally and got onto repairing next to the new wall, putting in a good slope to run the water away from the wall. With the wood in the chicken house all cut, and swept up, Hikmet moved onto the huge tangle of kindling and trees next to the orchard. He is a very hard worker.

I'll leave you with these two pictures, one of Thelma and Louise on the sandpit, the other showing what a great job Hikmet did of the wood store. Amazing.
