A long weekend, and a long day of digging

And we're back with another update, including the weekend and Monday due to weather delays.

The weekend was busy and great; on Saturday I was up and had Rosie while Angela got a well deserved lie in; sadly it was not nice weather so we couldn't go for a long walk or explore in the morning but we had a lot of fun playing with jigsaws in her playroom instead. We also went to see the neighbours but their boy had a sniffle which has ended up being passed on to Rosie and I wasn't feeling too hot today either. This meant that yesterday she was sent home from school feeling quite unwell but she has bounced back quickly and hopefully will be well enough to go back on Thursday. It was much nicer weather on Sunday and while Angela took Rosie for another walk I mowed a bit of the lawn, as well as getting some hobbying done. The puppies cuddled up to me after dinner as well and I slept with them there. We did not have the men on Monday this week because it was raining so no progress there.

The men did come in today, though my forecast made me think they may not. The task was to continue the trench past the humanure collection points and on to the green building. This proved to be quite a difficult task as the tree nearest the green building had sent some pretty massive roots out underneath the patio. It took them hours of chopping with axe, pickaxe and eventually chainsaw to remove these roots and they were quite apologetic at how slow it was going; I pointed out that I'd rather it be done right, and only once. They did get down and uncovered the old toilet drain pipe which may prove useful. The weather held off all day in the end but as I was out with Rosie for a short walk after work the clouds really gathered and there was a smattering of blown rain. This didn't really hit and was passed soon enough for a lovely sunset.

This evening Angela and I got to play a game again, BRUTALITY which is one we really enjoy as it's simple, silly, but really well balanced. I did manage to pull the win out but only just! It was a lot of fun.

So there you are; hopefully the men'll be here tomorrow again and progress can be slightly swifter.
