The storm held off

Yes, I'm back today (and you know what that means)... so read on to find out more.

The day dawned clear and bright with no sign of storms but I had pretty much agreed that the men wouldn't bother coming today. When I got back from dropping Rosie at school, however, they were there working away. The morning went from quite a cold breeze blowing in and threatening clouds to clear once more and all the while they worked away clearing the patio and starting to dig out the area at the front of the patio. Bekir cut down the dead trees by the path and then spent some time properly cleaning the chainsaw which was badly in need of a bit of TLC while Halil was sweeping and scraping and shovelling grass and weeds and soil. With the main patio done up to the path they then got to clearing the really badly jumbled up area below where the wall had fallen down. At one point Bekir called up to me and showed me this doll saying it was a "gift for Rosie". Angela disagreed and so did I!

It was nice enough at lunch that Angela and I sat on our chairs on the grass eating and enjoying the sun and fresh air but then mid afternoon finally the weather did change and the storm blew in. It rained on and off for a little bit, Bekir and Halil taking shelter during these periods, but also making progress along the front past the steps but about 4pm it was too heavy and I told them to go home. Bekir had finished fixing the chainsaw in this time, sharpening the blade, so that is now back in tip-top condition.

So there you are; I think they'll be back tomorrow but either way the next blog post will be number 1000 since I started writing these. Incredible, huh.

Also I've just been informed that if you are signed up for email alerts then that service is shutting down, sadly, so they will stop being sent. I'll be looking for an alternative. Thanks for reading.
