A change of plan for the builders

What a busy time it has been, mainly our own fault as we made a change of plan for what the men are going to work on this coming week.

Saturday was terrible weather to begin with; I went to ekont to collect the picture frames that had delivered but by the time we were driving back it started raining very heavily and it didn't stop for a fair while. One of the things Rosie and I did while it was raining was a several jigsaws and we ended up on a 300 piece one that was difficult but Rosie really got into it. Eventually the sun did come out and I went and sat with all four puppies and watched the sun glistening in the puddles. Later on we all got stuck in clearing and tidying in Rosie's bedroom. We have decided that rather than finish in the roof, where I'm actually waiting for a load more posters to go into my new frames, we'd get her rooms all done before it gets colder. This was quite a task but we made really good progress in sorting and tidying which was very satisfying.

Sunday there was a really lovely sunrise which I got to enjoy with Rosie as she was awake a bit early. I had been woken really early by Thelma and was in Room 13 when she woke. We sat on the back bank, wrapped up against the chill, until the sunrise was done. Later on we all got stuck back into clearing out the playroom and bedroom and by the end they were totally clear. Rosie was moved up into the guest room, and was very excited indeed about it (she even voluntarily went for a sleep in the afternoon, and I also had a sleep then). It was a good busy day.

So to today and then men were very happy to swap over to the new job. They picked up a new style of scraper from the shop, and some materials, before getting into the scraping in the playroom, taking the plaster off the beam where it was already cracked. They were doing their best to keep the dust down but it's getting everywhere unfortunately even with regular sweeping and hoovering. After the playroom they went into the bedroom and this is where the task grew (as is traditional here) as it turns out the entire ceiling needs redone. Never mind, I'd rather get it all done now than half a job again. Halil painted the primer on the beam in the playroom during the afternoon as well so tomorrow they can get plastering in there. I hope this will be a two or three day diversion at most, but we shall see.

I'll leave with a couple of pictures of Rosie; first of all she took herself off with Xena and Dutch and was running around the top bank playing with them lots. She also saw Angela doing her exercises and so wanted to do them herself so I sat with her (and did some of my own) which was a lot of fun.

So there it is; lots of fun and busyness but also good progress. Now I just hope my posters arrive soon so we can go straight to that after finishing this little diversion. Thanks for reading, back tomorrow.
