Tiling and more scraping

Welcome back to the blog and a slightly later start updating as Rosie was slightly later to bed tonight.

Back to scraping. Oh no!

Sadly I was wrong last night when I thought the scraping had been completed. Poor Sally and Halil were back at it this morning as the ceiling needed to be done. I felt so bad and said sorry many times; it really is a horrible job. Bekir meanwhile swept out the gym again and then, after some discussion with Angela and I again about which tiles to use, got stuck in to this task. It is so exciting how fast they are moving. One item of interest which has been excavated from the walls is the cable that ran the power to the bell from the head teacher's office (now our dining room). I think we will save these bells and maybe power them up again some time.

After lunch Bekir continued tiling and  the scraping continued and then finally was completed and so the men got the hose out and wet the entire place down again; this is a new technique and has left the corridor really damp; it needs to dry fully before I put books in there so thankfully the hot weather is set to continue for a few more days. With this done Sally started repairing the walls with cement and that was the end of the day, with Bekir having made a lot of progress on the platform. I then got to have some time with Rosie both on the balcony, outside, and in her play room reading lots of books while Angela made a really love meal of lamb chops in marinade. Lovely. The sunset was beautiful with some of the first clouds we've seen for a very long time!

So there you are; another day in the books and more progress. Thanks for reading, and see you tomorrow.
