Today has been a busy day but not very varied at all.

The men arrived on time and were straight on with the last beams needing their biscuit in place to increase the strength of the joint where they were sitting on the cross beam. It didn't take long to finish this up really. During the morning some time the wood we had ordered arrived and is now ready for that step however before they began the honestly huge job of drilling a hole every meter to secure these in place they drilled and chiseled out around each column next to the house and put steel through the hole; tomorrow they will fill this with mortar and each column will be very strongly tied to the house. With this done they turned to the final task of the day which was making a 7m length for the final beam, over the steps. They will add two columns either side of the steps to support this.
