More plastering on a sunny day

Today has been warm and sunny and glorious and not a day to be stuck inside at a computer like I have been all day. Oh well, it pays the bills.

I had the pleasure of taking Rosie to school today and was back at my desk working by the time the men were in; they were up into the attic getting on with their jobs which for Bekir was finishing up tidying and then getting the tape measure out to work out the area of carpet that we will need to do this entire part of the roof. We've pretty much decided that when they've completed this section they will go outside to work on the front wall (which is urgent) and the second part of the roof will get finished next winter. While Bekir was measuring Halil was back up his ladder working on the really complex joints above the stairs. Bekir finished up and set to plastering in the left hand crawl space. After lunch I had them go up the long ladder to fill in around the overflow pipe they had installed for our water tank; Angela had seen a bird trying to dig into the insulation there to make a nest! With that done they were both back inside plastering away with Halil up the ladder and Bekir working his way along the crawl space and getting to the block walls as well.

Spring seemingly has truly sprung here and we have blossom everywhere on our fruit trees; I hope this turns to fruit so we can have another awesome harvest of plums and apples and maybe even a few pears but we shall see. Angela got out into the garden a lot today, putting out some of the solar lights that we have collected, as well as a wooden wind chime we picked up in Sozopol. When Rosie got home from school we had a lovely time outside in the garden with her on her swing and then playing hide and seek for a fair while. I found the chore that will be me after work tomorrow, though; the big thistle plants are back and need digging out again.

Just now as I was writing this update Angela took Rosie out to see the new lights and I ran down to get some pictures as well; they are looking lovely indeed! The garden really is coming on so well.

So there it is; another day done. Thanks for reading and back tomorrow.

  1. That lovely flowering tree seems like an almond to me! Have you planted almonds? :)

    1. I've just seen this comment, sorry. I don't think we have, but maybe we will at some point. Thanks!
