It is so good to have Angela back, though of course she wasn't actually gone for that long but still. Back to "normal" today.
Tidying up around the doorways |
One wall looking very good |
Another corner is reinforced |
Trimming expanding foam from round the doors |
Bekir sanding the ceiling |
Bekir was on his own all day today as Halil had some chores to do, probably around his flat in town, and just dropped his dad off then collected him at the end of the day. For his part Bekir really cracked on today, first of all installing all the corner protection around the access doors for the crawl space and then plastering over the walls completely; he finished the first coat on the first wall. He also applied the corner protection to the corners as you enter the corridor so this is now really solidly built. Then he was onto the second wall and began the same process, trimming the expanding foam then installing the corner protection and applying some plaster. He didn't quite get that completed so that's for tomorrow. Finally he went into the crawl space and sanded it all down so tomorrow Halil can paint.
Angela enjoying the lovely day in the garden |
Set up to sift soil |
One batch of soil is done |
Rosie enjoying the garden |
My original daffs are doing great |
More flowers I planted years ago now |
Rosie on the trampoline |
It really was a lovely day today; Angela got to spend a lot of it out in the garden "pottering" as she put it while as soon as my work day was done I headed out with the shovel and started to sift and spread more soil on the side garden next to the path. When Rosie got home she spent some time outside and we walked around looking at the flowers and enjoying the weather before heading inside to go on the trampoline. It was a true spring day.
Lovely dinner on the balcony |
While on the balcony with Rosie on the trampoline I suggested we eat upstairs and so we did, a REALLY tasty chicken and mushroom pie and we had cycling on while we ate. Rosie was over the moon and so was I!
So there it is. A good day indeed. Thanks for reading and back tomorrow.
Is this some type of decorative plaster? The looking very good wall has a rather strong texture to it and usually plaster creates a very smooth and even finish?
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough the rough plaster is what we have everywhere; it's seemingly the norm here.. The smoother plaster that they are now putting onto the ceiling up there is "new" to them and we're happy they found it as this is what we'll want in the new apartment.
