More storms and rain and progress

It looked, today, very much like another day for the men to go early but it didn't pan out like that thankfully. First of all, however, the weekend.

Saturday was, as always, Daddy day and I had the great pleasure of taking Rosie to the toy shop as a week or so back she finally did a week collecting enough stickers on her chart to get a treat. She is so good at that shop and she walked all around looking at things (but not touching without asking) before she found the Peppa Pig Playground and that was it. She insisted on carrying it out to the car and then in from the car to show Mummy. She has played with it pretty continually since getting it as well. It was a bit overcast and dull and rainy for most of the day but then late on the storms passed and it was a lovely day.

Sunday is Mummy day and it dawned sunny and lovely and remained so all morning. This was a really good thing as while I did a few hobby tasks Angela was able to go to the restaurant with the excellent park and let Rosie have a really lovely time. I went up to join them for lunch which was also awesome. Once we got home the clouds started to gather and it got heavier and the thunder got closer and then after Rosie woke after her nap a huge storm came smashing through with high winds, heavy rain, and close thunder and lightning. Sadly one of the big sunflower plants did not survive; we are gutted it was a monster! The puppies were not impressed but Rosie seems to enjoy storms.

And so to today. The weather was forecast stormy all day and it was cloudy first thing, though the sun broke through during breakfast in a really beautiful display. Bekir and Halil were in on time and started mixing cement and fitting the next drains across the patio but it was raining/drizzling (though not heavily) for a while before finally just around their coffee break the heavens opened and they had to take cover. I thought about sending them home again but they had ordered some sand so had to wait for that anyway so Angela suggested asking them to make some planters she wants for the patio. Halil swept up and then they took themselves into the workshop and cut the lengths needed. The sand delivery truck arrived as well during this time and dumped its four tonnes of sand onto the pile.

The weather cleared and they were able to get outside again most of the afternoon and so we ended the day with just under half of one length left to do before they can completely tidy, flatten, put down the metal grid and then it'll be pouring cement time. How very exciting indeed!

So there you are; more done than expected.

Thanks for reading.
