The title says it all; no cement lorry and no cement pour today. The pump wasn't available but it is booked in as the first job tomorrow, apparently. We shall see. This IS Bulgaria after all.
This morning I was woken very early by a beautiful dawn chorus. I had to film it but of course when I started filming the dog in the next village over decided it was time to bark so please do ignore that. It was a stunning pre-dawn, but shortly the fog rose and was still around when Rosie woke but then it burned off. It's been very hot today; no pool was a bad thing today!

We don't want cement on this |
In the absense of cement pour the men got stuck in to finishing up the roof of the toilet collection points. This involved installing the rebar and making the frames for the roof hatch; this will have wire over it, will be openable, and I'll be able to put kitchen scraps in and also access the end of the exit pipe for cleaning purposes. They also built some more wooden frames to go around the rest of the pipes and allow access to the taps that will help me choose which collection point should get fed.
A wildflower |
Other than that Rosie is still not well, though it is only a cold which means we have all just got to ride it out; I'm working loads so a lot is on Angela and now she's coming down with the same which isn't ideal. I was at my desk most of the day but I did walk round from the back door to the front once on a trip to get pictures and enjoy a little bit of the land.
Thanks for reading - maybe tomorrow we will have cement?
As I wrapped up typing this up Angela came back with Rosie from giving treats to the dogs next door and getting some fresh air; the White Car from the farm drove past and I could hear them both running down to the front fence. They got there in time and were rewarded with a big BEEEEP and probably a huge wave from the guy. Neighbours are ace.
