Another day off blogging yesterday as another day off for the men, but it didn't need to be however this time was my fault.
Rosie after school
Rosie checks out the rugs in the shop
Reading the Hungry Caterpillar
The rain hammers down
There goes the storm
A really stunning sunset
When we woke it was raining heavily and seemed really set, and the forecast was for rain all day. I contacted Halil and said to not come however about 10 the rain cleared and it was perfect building weather; cloudy and cool. What a numpty. Ahh well, it is what it is. I collected Rosie from school and after a bit of play ground fun (and getting shouted at by a teacher for running around on grass not part of the playground) we went together to try and get a desk for me so I could sit on the balcony as an alternative working location. We did end up finding one however as we were in the little car, and it was buying the last in the shop, we paid and arranged to pick it up today. On the way home we drove through some incredibly heavy rain which was heading towards home; I rushed to get in through the gate before it arrived and when it did, wow it was heavy. Rosie had some new books deliver, and Angela read them to her for a bit while the rain hammered down. It did pass quickly and was a lovely evening with a glorious sunset.
Bekir starts to configure the extra drainage
Dry dessicated food
Strimming so he can dig
Digging time
The table tennis table, and patio plan
Lifting the slabs
How the day ended
I wasn't totally sure if the men would be in today as the forecast was pretty identical to yesterdays but it dawned dry though misty. I headed in to town early to collect the desk and when I got back they were in and working. Bekir was plumbing in some overflow drainage from the water collection point and we discussed extending the patio round the corner and under the table. This had slipped his mind so it will be done now, which is good. I want as much as possible one continuous slab. One consequence was we needed to move the temporary food compost bin that we used while the new toilets were being attempted. This did not work at all, sadly. Poor Halil had to shovel it up and we've put it into the existing humanure to combine there. The pipe joining the storage overflow into the drains was dug in quickly and completed and then they got started clearing the rest of the area around the table tennis table. We will be able to get a clip on net and play on this!
Desk on the balcony
Rosie's flower garden
Yesterday morning Angela got out into the garden and planted the flowers into Rosie's flower bed. They look lovely, and Rosie will love watching these grow, and the bees it'll attract. For myself I'm sat typing this up on the balcony at my new desk. It is very cool (in both senses of the word) and a nice change. Now I can swap between desks as I'm going to be working more over the coming months. Variety and movement is good.
This evening during dinner a big storm blew past so I legged it to get the washing in; as it happened it did not come near us and it is now a glorious and warm evening. We are about to play a game, for the first time for a long time which is awesome so I'll sign off and see you tomorrow.
