Both sides, and the bench is looking great |
First thing Bekir was sanding down the 3D printer bench so it is now ready for varnishing. With that done the main task of the day was started which was cutting and smoothing the chunky 100mm legs for the bench. We've put three legs a side on the near half of the bench and these are fixed with some more solid wood. Bekir then went and recovered a load of metal brackets that had been used in our wooden raised beds and these have been repurposed to secure the legs to the floor. With that done they turned their attention to fitting the offcuts (from yesterday when they trimmed each board down) as the sides of the central vacuum channel. By the end of the day all the legs were finished and in place and tomorrow they should get to fitting the actual machines. Very exciting and Rosie was also excited.

I'll leave you with a collection of pictures of Xena from today. She's spent a lot of time, while with me, sleeping on my lap (indeed she's there now) but also has spent a lot of time with Angela, Thelma and Louise which is very good for her. I did manage to get a very short rest during the day today and for the first time she was settled enough to cuddle up to me. I also left the room briefly at one point and came back to find she had jumped onto my kneeling chair. I have no idea how she managed this. She also loves Rosie very much, and Rosie reciprocates. It was awesome to watch Xena chill out so nicely while Rosie was "reading" the BFG.
So there you are; the day we had. Thanks for reading.
