Smoothing

It's been another busy day today for me, though not quite as bad as yesterday.

Xena woke me today before Rosie was awake but I was at my desk working when the sun came up. I did get to see a fair bit of Rosie before school though which is great. Angela took her down and the men arrived on time and I derailed their plans instantly. I had been looking at the boards for the worktop and realised that they were actually quite rough so rather than fitting the bench today it has been all about trimming to size and then sanding it down. I opened up my new roller supports to help them while they were using SandS's old table saw to do the trimming, and then it was hours and hours of sanding with the orbital sander but now they are glassy smooth. At lunch I got to spend about 20 minutes sat in the warm sun watching Thelma and Louise and Xena run around which was very nice. After lunch Halil came back from the metal shop with a new adaptor and we have been able to finally turn on the gas heater from Germany. He's also taken the thermo couples out of the ones I bought here as they are not working (as I worked out) so hopefully we'll have plenty of gas heaters ready for warming the balcony in time for Rosie's birthday party. The last parts of the day involved fitting another UK plug socket in the workshop and then clearing down the 3D printer bench preparatory for sanding and varnishing.

So there you are. Another day done; thanks for reading.
