Rubble Collection

Today really has been a glorious day. Angela was able to spend a really good amount of time in the art room, which is a really good thing, and the sun shone all day. I was a little grumbly at being stuck at my desk but I did get out a little.

Once again this morning we were sat on the balcony for Rosie's breakfast and it was lovely. The flowers that she and Angela picked at the end of last week are really lasting very well - being in fresh water and sunshine is doing them good. Bekir and Halil arrived while Angela was dropping Rosie down and finished up the final bits of walling by the ramp before they got stuck in to the task for the rest of the day; tidying up and collecting stones and rubble from around the property to use for infill. This has the double benefit of removing it from the grass so it is no longer risky for me to mow.

At lunch I got outside as well and did a bit of mowing and then a bit of collecting of stones and rubble myself. It was so good to get some "real" work done. The bulbs Angela planted by the driveway have come up nicely as well. With most of the rubble on the front cleared Halil and Bekir moved to the back bank. Halil cleared all the small stones I'd pulled out of the grass for mowing and then dug out the sapling and started the long process of breaking up the left over cement and piles of cement stones from various building projects that were on the bank. I suggested using the breaker but it was with the neighbours; Bekir recovered it and this sped up the work a lot. Bekir then got the strimmer working and used it to whack back hte overgrowth, while Halil followed with a rake and shovel and removed anything solid. It really does look a huge amount better back there already but there is still more to be done.

After work I did a little more clearing and mowing before Rosie got back with Angela and then it was daddy time on the balcony with art and reading before dinner. During dinner the cuckoos were very loud,  and one sat on the washing line pole for quite a while. Rosie was talking back to them! After dinner I got a little more time outside and then it was Rosie bedtime and my blog time.

All the hard work is starting to really pay off now. Today has been a day of feeling thankful and happy. Thanks for reading.
