Today is brought to you by being very tired after Rosie goes to bed but still having some things to do before collapsing into bed. One of those things is to write this update so let's get going!

Bright start to the day, high clouds only |

Mixing the dry mix |

Soaking down the wall |

Another course, but is it the final one? |

Working out the angles for the side of the patio |
The day started off bright, though the forecast has been for rain today, but this rain stayed away all day which was a relief. Rosie was still on holiday (it being Labour Day here) so no school run and the men were in and getting stuck in to more wall building. First of all they mixed cement then while Halil was finishing that task Bekir soaked the entirety of the existing wall with the hose, to help the cement adhere I think. They did the next course very quickly and then lined up for the return wall on the right of the patio. I was watching wondering if they would need another course or not.

Rosie and Mummy having a picnic |
Angela has done really well keeping Rosie entertained during these days and she took her out onto the front lawn in the morning and one thing they did was fly the kite. At lunch I ate my lunch on the balcony while Angela and Rosie read together, then I dragged the mower to the back bank and did about 3/4 of the mowing back there. While I was still working on this Angela brought the rug through and she and Rosie had a picnic there, which was lovely as it meant I could stop every now and then and see them. It is very tiring mowing, but very satisfying.

I think there's one more after this one |
|
Making the humanure slightly taller also |
The men continued with the walls, after a long conversation where we worked out that two more courses were needed (I think anyway; I'm tired now I may be misremembering) but that meant we were short of blocks so after some calculations Bekir rang our usual supplier. Unfortunately there are apparently no blocks available at all anywhere until Saturday, so we may have to source elsewhere, or just wait. We have bought them out! Once they did run out of the larger blocks we need for the main walls Halil started to bring our left over blocks from making the humanure collection points and they used them to build up the two central ones, that I want to be taller so I can empty them easier.

Sat with the Little Lady |
After work I finished up the mowing on the back bank then did some painting with Rosie before going for a little walk just to the top of our lane. She did a load of litter picking (she HATES litter, good girl!) and I put it into the bin, we watched the sheep and then The Little Lady (who she calls Nanny) came out and sat with us for a while. It was very nice before heading back for dinner, bath time, then bed.
It's been a nonstop day but a good one. Thanks for reading!
