An itty bitty day

Today has been a day where nothing that was planned has been achieved, really, but lots has been done. This is true for both my day job and also for the workmen, though the distraction of the workmen was our fault as we changed up our plans slightly.

I slept through my alarm and woke about half an hour later than normal to clouds and rain. I struggled to get going but still did my usual chores before A got back with the men however the shifting of the wood didn't happen once more. The men were cheerful enough when they arrived and Bekir was tasked with putting the glass into the other display cabinet for me so he got his tools together, but then went to cut up tiles for Mesut as his task was to finish off completely around the area where one of the large units will be in the Art Room, so it can be moved and fixed into place to reduce the risk of damage. He worked really fast and very shortly afterwards the edging was complete. A made me a huge plate of scrambled eggs which was so welcomed on such a miserable day. With his assistance for Mesut out the way Bekir got stuck into fitting the glass into the unit.

Emma came over to see A which was lovely; it's good to get mixed company and it's always a pleasure to have Emma around; we're hoping to see Nik soon as well. Mesut finished the side tiles very quickly and got onto grouting the tiles underneath where the unit will go. Lunch came and went and I was feeling very unusual but eventually forced some food into me and that did help a bit. After lunch Mesut got some paint on the walls where the unit will go, though we did find that the green is a bit strong to cover with just one coat of the new paint. No matter, it's all progress and while this distraction has meant that they actually haven't finished the Art Room floor, it's all stuff that needed to be done. With the painting done Mesut went into the Games Room and started cleaning between the laid tiles in preparation for grouting while Bekir continued laying tiles. We're not as close to finished as I hoped however getting the walls painted in the Art Room will really improve the look.

After taking the men home, which was uneventful, I came home to help A carrying all the soup out to the freezer; that's a serious batch right there. I then came upstairs to pour water effects on some of the tiles I'm making and look at how flat that floor is! Amazing job from Mesut. After dinner, lovely sausage and spuds with beans, I came back upstairs and had an attempt at making papier mache, though I added some grit to the mix to make even more mess. We shall see how this turns out. The clouds stays, though mid afternoon there was a period of glorious sunshine, and the sunset was a pretty show, if not as amazing as it can be.

And so there's another week; another two weeks until I have to go away for business so two weeks left for the men to finish everything as they have to finish then. I'm going for a shower and then I may do some more hobby time. I'll be back on Sunday I reckon. Cheers for reading.
